Plenty of work but little progress.

We worked the entire day on separate tasks but in a skype call.

Martin worked on writing out text on the screen while i worked with adding animations to some of the cars. In the end we both ended up having very limited success, I failed to adjust the code from the platformer to our code completely  and somehow ended up with invisible cars with larger collides so i eventually  decided to save the project and transfer the work over to a backup from when i started today. This time i know where to put the code so i should be able to figure something out tomorrow. Martin also seemed stumped on how to write out text and didn’t seem to have much success himself.

What otherwise happened today was that we finally got around to looking up the exact time the project was to be turned in and learned that our belief of the 7th was wrong. Suddenly we had a lot of time to make sure the game finished, but on the other hand as always when you find out something like this you get the opposite effect. Suddenly we have so much time to add stuff that we’re bound to be able to add SO MUCH stuff. Still better than having to finish the game by Monday at least.

I also check my email during that and saw Ulf’s comment on one of my posts where he suggested i should put in more examples of code, something that seems like a great idea and i will add that when i have something relevant to what i’m posting. He also asked what i meant by Call session so i’ll describe it in here as well since it seems silly to make it a post on it’s own.

When i say call session i mean that we keep a voice call on skype going while we work, i find this helpful for keeping focused on the work and it also helps synchronizing our effort to make sure both of use aren’t working on the same thing. Skype also have a screen sharing function which allows one to view the other’s screen which itself is a lot of help if one is stuck and wants to show the issue they’re having.
